Shooting is situated in what was once a sandstone quarry excavated by the Romans but it has long been greened over and provides us with our name “Greenquarries”, providing an ideal and pleasant setting for sporting clay pigeon shooting. The undulating terrain and abundant foliage of the quarry provide the perfect site for exciting and realistic targets skilfully set up to simulate the flight of driven grouse, springing teal, settling ducks and many more, including our famous high pheasant of over 100 feet, testing the most experienced shots.

We are a family-run business and have been providing clay shooting here for over 18 years. Being family-run we have retained control over the quality of the clay shooting we provide for our clients and, over the years, have gained a reputation for providing excellent shooting and tuition with targets set up for enjoyment at all levels.

Our shooting ground is affiliated to the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association and our facilities are available to anyone wishing to test their skill in this popular and exciting sport. There is no need to own a gun or to have shot before, as tuition, use of guns, cartridges, shooting jackets, ear defenders, etc can be provided.

Shooting at Greenquarries can be arranged for you any day of the week, but prior booking is essential as we only operate by appointment.
